OUR OUTDOOR ESCAPE GAMES

You and your team will be sent out into the local area with everything you need to solve the puzzles to save the world/complete your mission. This will include an iPad, which will act as an interactive map and an AR (augmented reality) game play device showing talking avatars, locked safes and puzzles to solve. You will also have an Action Pack (bag/case) with gadgets and papers that will help you to solve the clues and the puzzles. We would also ask that at least one member of your team has a well charged smartphone with access to the internet at the start of the game.

The interactive map is really easy to follow but the team at Exitus know the route you should be on and if you need to you can phone us for help.

The routes that you will need to take are between 2 - 4km over 2 hours, so it is not a physically exhausting course but you do need to cover the distance to get to every puzzle. The routes are wheelchair friendly, but please ask the team if you have any needs or disabilities and we can make sure you are on the most suitable route.

You will not be grouped with strangers. When you book a game, it is yours for the entire slot.

All game play and clues will be delivered via the iPad that we will supply. All puzzles have the option for one clue and to solve the puzzle for you. These games will take points away for every clue you request and you will not be awarded any points if you request the puzzle be solved for you.

Each game has a countdown timer which is set at 2.5 hours, the game can be completed within 2 hours. When the timer finishes, if you are still playing, you will be told that your time is up and that you should return to Exitus.

If you do not finish the game and want to play again to complete it then you are welcome to book and play again. The puzzles do not change, but we are able to set the games up on a different route so if you wanted to play in a different location, like near a Scout Hall, in a School or on a Team Building exercise just have a chat with one of the team at Exitus.

It is not necessary to book an Escape Game in advance, although it is preferred. We will accept players who have not made an appointment, but we cannot guarantee availability.

Bookings are refundable within 48 hours of your booking time, and within 48 hours’ notice of your scheduled game. However, if you need to reschedule in the event of an emergency, please call in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

It is recommended that players book as far in advance as possible to ensure their desired date and time is available.

Outdoor Escape Games/Adventures operate differently to our traditional rooms and therefore we charge a flat fee for each booking. We still recommend that you only bring up to 6 people per game as you have to work together around an iPad – this would be tricky with more than 6!

It is recommended that players arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. If you arrive after your start time, due to other bookings, we may need to take time off your game. If you know you are going to be late, call us before your booking and we may be able to arrange something for you.

Each route covers between 2 - 4km over 2hours and is outside – comfortable shoes and a waterproof jacket are often required.

Yes. Children under the age of 16 must have an adult with them. We do not accompany groups playing Outdoor Escape Games. Ask an Exitus team member which game is most suitable for the children in your group.

Yes. You may even need to use your phone to help with the game! We would ask that at least one player has a fully charged smartphone, with access to the internet at the start of the game in case it is needed for notes, photos, clues or to call the Exitus team.

All game routes are accessible for dogs, but please be aware that Mindfall uses a City Centre route and Magic Portal uses a park route - please choose a game with this in mind if your are bringing your dog.

We ask that you do not take any photos or video of the AR, Clues, Games or any of the contents of the Action Pack – however, you can take photos of you and your team around the city – some of the games require you to do this – tag us in any social media posts!
